Dr Puvithra is a Senior Consultant in the department of Andrology and Reproductive medicine at Chettinad Superspeciality Hospital since 2016. She has over 12 years of expertise and is well known for her clinical knowledge, skills, empathetic patient care and ethical practice.
She completed her Under graduation from the well known Annamalai University and went on to do an Internship at the prestigious Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore. She did her post-graduation in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from the National Board of Examinations. In 2016, she also completed a Fellowship in Clinical Andrology and Reproductive medicine under the eminent Prof.Dr. Pandiyan Natarajan at Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute where she passed out with a distinction.
She is highly meritorious and has received the Gold medal and Chellammal Saravana Mudaliar prize – for highest marks in Ophthalmology in 2005, the Padmashri Seerkazhi Govindarajan prize for excellence in fine arts in 2008 and has won the first prize and gold medal for her research paper presentation at Chettinad International Fertility Colloquium in 2015.
She is an active participant as an invited guest speaker or chairperson in National and International conferences. She has been the Vice President of International Fertility Research Foundation (IFReF) since 2019. She has written many articles for medical journals and chapters in textbooks related to Infertility & Assisted reproduction (IVF).
Her patient interactive interview on ‘Mayakkam Enna’ in ‘Kalaignar TV’ and talk show in ‘Kaalai Malar’ programme in ‘Jaya TV’ on common infertility and reproductive medicine topics was aired globally.
She is well-known for her impeccable treatment standards, her patient-centric approach and her exceptional communication skills. She received the ‘Angel of healthcare award’ as part of the International Top 100 Women Achievers Award in 2021.
She is also a fundamental team member in the department and is instrumental in training gynaecologists future embryologists in the field of ART.
